Open-Source Software
My favorite open-source software.
OpenOffice.org (word processor, spreadsheet, etc.) - Arguably as good as M$ Office Suite.
GIMP (image manipulation) - Not quite Adobe Photoshop, but coming along.
Inkscape (vector graphics) - Uses SVG and XML standards; the open-source Adobe Illustrator analog.
Jahshaka (video editing) - Don't know yet; looks nice though.
Audacity (audio editing) - Quick, nice filters, mp3 export.
Scribus (publishing) - The Adobe Pagemaker analog.
Common Music (music composition) - Computer assisted composition...weird.
Stepmania (game) - DDR...open-source.
CDex (cd-ripping)
AudioNut (media player) - lightweight audio playing
